Urgent Notice!! and Christmas celebrations.

Guys!! Take note! Friday's Protein Tech is gonna be very looooooooooong. According the our pract teacher, it could take 3 1/2 hours to complete!!

Therefore, the teacher has requested us to start earlier and have decided to start at 1pm!! I repeat, protein Tech is at 1PM!
_______________________

In light of recent events, our class has decided a ONE DAY bbq during the one week holiday, to unwind and detress a little bit and also to celebrate and enjoy the christmas season. Therefore, everyone is highly encourage to attend the class bbq and have lots of fun! We will be using the school's allocated fund for us to use during the bbq. No contributions are necessary!

Also, we have also decided to have the christmas gift exchange on the day of the bbq itself, rather than the last day of school before the one week holiday. This in my opinion, would make a more meaningful christmas atmosphere.

So you have roughly about a month to think of a great gift ( minimum budget 5 bucks) and you have lots of time to do some shopping to get that perfect gift!

Intro to immunology Links

Introduction to Immunology Links

Here are links that was given to Micheal on intro to immunology.

Link French Webbie

Link to second webbie

I have also taken the liberty to translate the whole french webbie to an english one using babelfish... But i would suggest, reading it slowly and carefully to avoid confusion, as the translations can be pretty wacked.

Link to translated French Webbie

For example, the last few lines in the webbie:

"In short: a hémolyse which this is: an explosion and pieces of membrane which settle,
or is this a balloon which deflates, loses its form, and settles by gravity, or is this other thing?"

HAR!?!?!

"Undoubtedly I was, me, Toulousain, affected by the explosion of the ammonium nitrate stock of factory AZF, and by
vision of the orange cloud which polluted the sky above the area this day, from where the choice of the model "balloon which deflates"
and "left a coloured cloud"

Medical Microbiology Errata and Immunology E prac Issues.

This just came from Gad, which came from Jay:

Apparently, Staph species are Gram Positive.

Epidermidis strain, is gram positive, however, it is pink because it does not take the dye well. ( crystal violet)

The strain that shows hemolysis in the blood agar is aureus while non hemolysis is epidermidis.

Also, ive asked AK regarding the accesibility of the E prac in the cms (immunology). He will take a look at it and find out the cuase of the problem. Any further news will be notified at a later date.

Also, microbiology results day is Thursday, 12pm. It should no longer take more than 15 to 20 minute. I need at least one member of each group to come and observe. Please remember to BRING YOUR LABCOAT!!

It seems that the lecture notes for bioinformatics are already in the cms. So you can print them straight, or refer to smc for reference in regards to lecture notes.

Thank you Tze hui for letting me and whole class know.
